Shinbashi restaurant was started by Fumiko Hosoda in 1974, bringing her vision of traditional Japanese cuisine to the west. Shinbashi, translated as New Bridge in Japanese, not only bridges East and West but old and new.
Continuing with our 3rd generation of being family owned and operated, we have introduced a modern interpretation of the traditional Japanese cuisine while having the privilege to serve the most discriminating customers.
Carefully scrutinized and hand-selected by the owners and sake sommelier, we offer a wide variety of Junmai Daiginjo, nama and nigori sake. Hot pots, sushi/sashimi and tempura dishes have continued to be our staple for decades. We have the capacity to seat over 200 guests and offer extensive seating by the sushi bar. Please visit our completely remodeled dining room for a memorable meal. For larger groups, we offer private parties in the upper level mezzanine and downstairs bar/lounge area.
We thank our loyal and valued customers whose years of support have helped us achieve our goals to provide excellence with personal and familiar service.
Shinbashi 49 is our connected takeout and sake tasting storefront serving various menu additions including donburi, curry, wappameshi and ramen. Enjoy a sake tasting or complimentary green tea while we prepare your homestyle Japanese meal. You can view Shinbashi 49's Menu Here

“I go to Shinbashi at least twice a week since I work right around the corner. I first noticed this place when I saw a bunch of Japanese business people going in...usually a good sign for sushi. I love the outdoor seating in the summer and sometimes get bento to go from the cafe side. It's the perfect lunch option for a lot of reasons.”
